Another speed scrap

This was very challenging. One of the rules was that half of the elements had to be hanging. For some reason,it's hard to figure out how to "hang"things on a scrapbook page- well at least it is for me. I want to rearrange a few things- mainly the title. I also need to add a journaling spot.

These photos are from one of the first times I caught Gabe looking out the window- he's pretty new to standing up on his own,and he is just mesmerized when he looks out the window. It's like he just realized there's a whole new world out there!

Speed Scraps!

I just recently got into digital scrapbooking. I'm having so much fun learning about different techniques. Last week I discovered a few websites that have challenges every now and then. I participated in a speed scrap tonight on this site. You log onto the website, and the host will give several directions. You have an hour to complete a layout, and another hour to post it on the site. In return you receive a participation prize (a digital scrapbooking item ). I really liked the prize that was offered tonight,so even though I had to work, I raced home and made a layout. It was pretty challenging for me, but I actually completed it in time, and posted on the site. Here is my finished layout.

Day 20

Ok, I cheated a bit and took this yesterday. This is my addiction. I love diet coke . But only on ice. Once in awhile I add a squeeze of lime, too. I buy a 2 liter, and take that to work with me. I don't drink it all in one day , usually over 3 days. But I do get teased from the girls at work, who think I drink a 2 liter of coke a day!

Day 19

Jacob loves facebook. It seems to be the newest obsession with my older kids. Since they're homeschooled, they don't see their friends every day. But this way they can chat with them at least once a day.

Day 18

Kaden and Maya love to play this game over and over. They don't really understand the concept of the game, but they are at least learning how to find matching pictures. They get a little better each time.

Day 17

I love my crockpot! On busy days, I use my crockpot alot! I made a venison roast with vegetables this . It turns out so delicious this way!

Day 16

Organization- my #1 goal for this year. I bought the kids this bin organizer, in hopes of keeping things easier to put away and find. They seem to get the hang of putting toys away in the bins, they just don't always put them in the correct one. Well ,it's a start anyway.

Day 15

Brrrrrr..... when I woke up this morning, it was 18 below outside. The wind chill is somewhere around 40 below, and all area schools were cancelled. I'm thankful for our pellet stove that we turn on turning the day to keep cozy in the living room!

Day 14

Danielle and Maya reading books together on the couch.

Day 13

On day 13, we went rollerskating with our homeschool group. It was nice to get out of the house for awhile. I couldn't help Maya skate because I had to watch the little boys, so these two girls helped her around. Wasn't that sweet?

Day 12

Here is our dog, Tunica. Danielle actually took this photo. I had to work, and didn't get a chance to take one today. Luckily, she is working on photography for her 4-H project and was using my camera on monday.

Day 11

Today, we had Kaden's former foster family over for dinner. This is his foster mom, Christine. They really treat him good- not only did they bring his favorite food, grapes.. but presents, too! He got a set of "Handy Manny" tools. Then he went all around the house "fixing " aka.. trying to saw all my furnitre in half- lol!

Day 10

Self Portrait- lol. I'm always the one around here taking photos, so I had to include myself.... like my hair color? I just colored it this morning-it's a bit more red than I wanted, but it will tone down.
Oh-and can you see my beautiful camera? It was my birthday present this year. I am still learning how to use it, but it's soooo.... much better than my old one!

Day 9

Day 9 - Grocery Day! This is what I usually buy to get us through 2 weeks of groceries. But this doesn't really include all of it. There are even several bags in the back seat, too. I dread grocery day,it's a huge hassle! That is why I shop for 2 weeks at a time, not only do I have to endure walmart less, but the less I go into stores, the less I spend.

Day 8

Ta-daaaa!!! Day 8! Here's my two little boys having a blast with their dumptruck. It's hilarious to watch as Kaden runs across the room, Gabe tries as hard as he can to catch up and get that truck! He's learning to crawl pretty fast now, but still can't quite get the truck! But he doesn't care- he never gets mad, he just giggles!

Day 7!

woohoo- nearly caught up! Here's day 7! The never ending pile of snowboots in the kitchen. We've had record snowfalls in the past month, so these boots aren't going anywhere for awhile. Why take a picture? Some day , when the kids are grown up and gone, I'm sure I will miss the days of snowboots, mittens, and hats strewn everywhere!!

Day 6 photo

A meal staple at our house....frozen pizza! I had been at a friend's house scrapping this afternoon, then we had to leave for our Bible study dinner, so once again frozen pizza was my friend!

Day 5 photo

Still catching up on posts. Here is day 5. We started back up with schooling for the new year. Megan was not so eager to start algebra again, but she is putting her best effort into it.

Catching up on Project 365 photos

Day 4

It's a bit hard to see on the photo- but there is a thick layer of ice covering just about every surface this morning. Last night it rained off and on, combined with freezing temperatures it made for treacherous road conditions that day.

Day 3
This photo is a bit grainy,as I tried using natural light instead of the flash. The boys are looking out the window, as Daddy leaves for his favorite store "Fleet Farm" to get some salt to melt the ice skating rink that has taken over our driveway!

Day 2
Testing out some settings on my camera,I actually got a photo of Scooter, and for once he wasn't sleeping or running away from me!

DAY 1

This is my photo for Day 1 - my "creative workspace". Can you just see how much creative genious would actually happen at that space?? None! Guess what my #1 (yes, there's more than 1) NY resolution is? Getting more organized!!! Maybe later on I'l have a new, organized workspace photo to show you!

1st post on day 4!!

I'm starting my posting of P365 a few days late. 4 days late! I had to work on New Year's Day, then came down with the stomach flu, so another 2 days lost. Then had to work again today. I did actually manage to take a few photos in between.

In addition to the P365 challenge, I'm taking an online photography course. I am really just learning about photography, and so my photos aren't the best. But my goal is to improve, and that's all I care about. I am not aspiring to be a professional.

However , I still have to get the photos off my camera ,edit and post them, so you'll have to wait until later to see an actual photo!
